Disneyland Paris.

No updates for a long time but Mummy promises to do better :-)

We took a trip over to Disneyland Paris to see the Xmas lights. We had worked out that in our previous five visits we had managed to always do Disney trips in October, We can’t work out how that happened but regardless of whether it was France or Florida it was always Halloween!.

Needless to say we had a fantastic time along with our friends Will & Gemma and their two kids,We also managed to take in a few rides and see the snow on Mainstreet :-) I wasn't sure we would get on anything with our little man in tow! Clicky for pics.

16th July 2009

Today was Will's last day at the childminder. From the 27th onwards he starts with his new childminder. Hopefully he'll settle in a lot quicker with the new lady.
He's teething now again as well and has been at home all of this week apart from yesterday when he had a leaving party at playgroup. I feel a bit sad really as I think that he's really going to miss the children at the childminders but the new lady is just more convenient.
Will has got a new tricycle this week that he loves and now spends all day riding round the house on it. It hasn't got any pedals so he just pulls himself around. He's really cute. I've been trying to teach him if you're happy and you know it clap your hands and heads, shoulders, knees and toes so now he claps and touches his head all of the time.
Will ate his tea on his own tonight with his knife I fork after I cut it up for him. He had a cheese jacket potato and salad and he seemed to really enjoy it. The only thing is that it takes ages for him to finish it. He was so happy though when he did it.
He's got a bouncy ball now as well that we have been chasing around the front room. When it goes under the sofa he lies on the floor and tries to get it out again and giggles like crazy.

8th June 2009

Hi i've not updated this for ages so I can't really remember everything that we've been upto.
Chris, William and I have been out and about using Will's bike seat which is great. Will loves it and tends to sing whilst we are riding which is funny. He was teething again a couple of weeks ago which was awful as he was dribbling like mad, off his food and having horrible nappies. The worst thing though was that he wasn't sleeping so we were absolutely exhausted.
Will still seems to be doing well at the childminders and interacting with the other children. He even made a pizza today out of a barm cake.
We've just bought a teddybear backpack for Will that is actually reins. He seemed to like them when we tested them out at weekend. They're great as the reins i've got aren't very long so I didn't really like them.
Will seems really happy at the moment and is starting to talk a bit more. He mostly jabbers but now says dada which is really cute. He's got his own computer, a real one as well. He's obsessed with Chris's so now he sits there typing and looking at the screen. Chris sometimes puts Bob the Builder on or phones Will on the internet phone using his webcam and computer he loves it and won't stop giggling.
We're preparing for our holidays now and we're due to go on 19th and I can't wait x

14th April 2009 take 2

Just a quick update for you. Will and Chris are both better now and we are just getting back to normal after the easter break. Will is doing really well at the childminders at the moment and seems to just cry at specific things instead of all the time. He is playing a lot better as well at playgroup and is getting his own little personality. He's even drawn me a picture today. At playgroup he's been playing on the slide and car. Will made an easter card and cornflakes cakes last week at the childminders and she even got him his first easter egg. He didn't get to eat it but I did let him have a milkybar last week that he loved, he can only have chocolate occasionally though as I want to keep him eating lots of fruit and yoghurts for dessert.
Chris and I have taken Will to the park a couple of times recently and discovered that he loves slides probably because of the one at playgroup, so we've decided to buy an indoor slide for in the conservatory, we don't use it for anything else so we may as well. It could end up being the most stupid idea ever but I think that he'll really like it.
We've just got our backpack baby carrier today which is fantastic so we can now go for walks with Will and the dogs instead of trying to lug the buggy around and it's even better as it's completely free from the review website that I'm registered at. Chris has tested it in the house and Will seemd to like it so fingers crossed he'll like it outside.
Will is more or less eating adult food all off the time now and is coming all really well. He tries everything and even drinks water now. When we went out for mothers day he used a straw in Frankie and Benny's and now if you can't get him to drink he just needs a straw it's brilliant.
Had better go now anyway i'l update you on his progress soon x

It's been a crazy week this week Will attended the childminder as usual on Monday but has been off then the rest of the week. The childminder was ill on Tuesday but then Will got conjunctivitis so he couldn't go back for the rest of the week. I was crazy at work so I looked after Will on Tuesday, my parents on Wednesday and my mother in law on Thursday. He's been a bit off colour as well as his eyes though and has been sick a few times which is something that he never does. He seems to have turned the corner now though and be back to himself.

With Will being poorly this has been a quiet and given me chance to clean the house. Chris has now just started to be poorly as well but I can't decide if this is due to him being really tired as he's been working a lot this week. anyway i'm going to chill out this evening and have a drink and watch tv ready to start a crazy week again tomorrow x

Mother's Day

Will seems to have been a bit happier at the childminders this week and has been playing outside and at playgroup. I'm not getting too excited though until he's been good for a couple of weeks. I have asked the childminder to feed him on proper food as off next week instead of jars as he eats pretty much anything now.
We went to the park last week and he went on the swings, slide and seesaw he loved them all and was really cute. He's starting to get a peronality now and is obsessed with being chased and giggles all the time.
We've been swimming a couple of times now the first time the pool was packed out and Will didn't seem very happy. We've been again this morning and he loved it as it was a lot quieter. He was sitting on the side doing belly flops and laughing his head off. For the first time in ages he didn't cry at all during swimming. Before we could go in the pool Will had to get his membership card and we had to have a photo taken as usual he didn't smile properly bu at least he wasn't crying.
Will has been in a great mood today for mother's day he brought me my card in bed which is gorgeous it has a photo of myself and Will on the front and inside he's scribbled in it himself. He's even managed to buy me some Clinique make up as well.
I've just heard the news whilst we were in the gym that Jade Goody has died it's awful that she's died on mothers day and it just makes me feel really sorry for her family.

14th March 2009

Will has had his MMR injection now about 10 days ago. He's just got a rash today but luckily he's not been off colour at all.

He now has his first pair of outdoor shoes funnily enough called first shoes from Clark's. They were lovely in the shop they couldn't measure his feet as he was crying non stop. We ended up measuring his shoes and then trying a couple of pairs of shoes on to get the correct fit. It was great though they took a polaroid of him wearing them. It'd be a lovely photo if he wasn't crying. I think that he was probably just a bit tired.

We are now the proud owner of an underwater swimming picture. Will doesn't look very happy on it which is a shame as on the small photo that I viewed originally he looked ok. I think i'll still frame it though as it's cost me a fortune.

I have now joined the gym so i'm taking Will tomorrow morning as we have left Waterbabies now. It should be good to go just the 2 of us.

Anyway i'm going now and get something to eat x

Thursday, 26 February 2009

Will has been a bit off colour again this week and has had a virus according to the Dr. He had a rash and was red hot with bright red cheeks and just cried for about 4 hours through the night on Sunday and Monday. Chris and I were both shattered. Luckily he's completely back to normal now.
We've now got his appointment through for his MMR injection i'm a bit stressed about it really not because of any side effects as i've read up on it and I it's been proven to be safe but because it makes them off colour for a longer period of time than the other vaccinations.
I'm looking forward to be being off tomorrow as we are going to baby music class. Will's not been for 2 weeks so he should have a good time.

William Walking.

Just thought I'd put up a video of William while he is learning to walk, before we know it he will be running around so it will be nice to be able to look back on this.

20th February

Will has been back at the childminder's this week who has said he has been a total nightmare and cried most of the time. I have spoken to everyone I can think off, scoured the internet and read books to try and find a solution. I can't find anything that we haven't already tried.
I might have a solution though as today he tried the same on me and screamed for 20 mins after I left him to go the toilet, how terrible am I. I left him rolling about on the floor kicking and screaming. Then to make matters worse he followed me into the kitchen screaming as I made a drink so I left him in the hall and pushed the door to. After 20 minutes he gave up but later in the day when he started again I just said no a couple of times and then he stopped. Hopefully that will be the end of it if we're just firm with him.
The majority of time this week he's been back to normal after being poorly and is starting to get his own personality giggling at things. We were watching Alan Titchmarsh earlier and they were laughing on tv and he joined in, he had no idea what they were laughing at but it was really cute.
We're back at swimming tomorrow and only have 3 weeks left until Will has completed the years course. He can probably swim better than me now especially underwater.
Anyway i'll update you again shortly.

Underwater Photoshoot

2 weeks ago William had his underwater photoshoot. To say that it went well would be a complete lie. The idea was that he went underwater 3 times and had some digital photos taken each time. He swims underwater every week so I thought that he would take it in his stride.
The first attempt was fine apart from they kept him underwater for what seemed like an eternity and when he surfaced he was upset. On the 2nd and 3rd attempts he was already crying when I handed him over so we were told not to expect anything from the pictures.
This morning I went to have a look at the finished result and they were not too bad considering and we had 8 shots in total. On some of them you could tell that he was upset but there was one that seemed ok so i've ordered it and wait now for the finished product.

13/2/09 Update

Will has been poorly and has been at home all week. We thought this was due to his teeth but after seeing the doctor discovered that he has an ear infection. He spent Sunday lying on the sofa making moaning sounds it's the quietest he's been since he was a newborn. He seems to be more or less back to normal now after a couple of days of antibiotics but we're skipping swimming just in case.
I've discovered as well that Will is a complete actor as his grandma and grandad had been looking after him and feeding him his tea and he was fine and then when I went to take over he had a tantrum. Chris mentioned the other day as well that he milks things a lot more when i'm around. I think i'll have to keep any eye on that as he's obviously playing me and he's only 13 months old.
Will's personality is showing more now and he's started to laugh at things. He's started to do things like turn the tv off to provoke a reaction it's really cute.
